Board, and guidance from USSF through its Advice to Referees, Guide to Procedures, and various official memoranda.  This document is therefore regarded as authoritative and may be quoted as such.  For further details on any of these points, consult the sources listed above.
 
References throughout to the male gender in respect of players, referees, assistant referees, fourth officials, and others are for simplification and apply to both males and females.

Highlights from the 117th Annual General Meeting of FIFA

US Soccer recently announced some of the results of the 117th Annual General Meeting of the International Football Association Board that took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland on March 15th.  Several topics including Players’ Equipment, the role of the fourth official, penalty kick protocols and the evolution of artificial turf in the modern game were discussed.  Below is a brief overview, for complete details visit ussoccer.org


Calling the game - Snohomish TOPS

The Snohomish TOPSoccer Program (Washington State Youth Soccer Association) is jumping into the spring 2003 season with a pilot program intent upon training the art of refereeing. US Youth Soccer’s TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) program is a community-based program for young athletes with special needs. Now in our fourth year in Snohomish, we felt our players might enjoy participating in another aspect of the game.
